I think most of us reach a point where getting dressed has to work with real life.
We’re working, taking care of families, running errands, meeting friends, making dinner, answering one more email—and somewhere in the middle of all of that, we still want to feel good in what we’re wearing.
That’s one of the reasons I love vintage denim.
When I started The Indigo Revival, I didn’t want to just source great pairs of Levi’s and put them online. I wanted to show how I see them—and how easily they can fit into the life of a woman who has a lot going on but still loves style.
These cutoffs are a perfect example.
For the first look, I paired them with plaid, a scarf detail and brown boots. It’s a little Western, a little polished and an easy way to take denim cutoffs into fall.
For the second, I swapped everything for a striped tee and sneakers. Same shorts, completely different feeling. It’s the outfit for the days when comfort wins—but you still want to look put together.
Because at this stage of life, I don’t think we need more clothes just for the sake of having more clothes. I’d rather have pieces I love and find new ways to wear them.
And maybe that’s what I love most about vintage denim. It was never meant to be perfect. It gets better when it’s lived in, and it doesn’t ask you to dress like anyone other than yourself.
Same denim. Two moods. One very real life.
Your story. Your denim.
